Basketball is as much a game of explosive power and endurance as it is of skill, agility and speed. Many of the boys choose to play the game in the first and fourth term in order to perfect their hand-eye coordination as well as their fitness. College has maintained an excellent standard of basketball over the past four years, fielding 10 to 12 teams each season. The fact that the Indoor Courts will become a reality in 2012 means that the number of games played each season will increase. The first term of 2012 was very successful due to the fact that most of the student coaches are College Old Boys who ensure that the players in their care uphold the Core values of the school.
HIGHLIGHTS : The 1st team losing only one match in the first term. CLASH OF ALL CLASHES: Maritzburg College vs Hilton. An intense game won only in the dying minutes of extra-time! College winning the match 71 – 66. |
