Maritzburg College, one of the leading boys’ schools in South Africa, has an excellent reputation for its academic, sporting, cultural and leadership programmes. The school’s Governing Body invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following posts –

 

DEPUTY HEADMASTER: BOARDING (“DHB”)

(available from the start of the third term of 2017)

The DHB is a member of the school’s Executive Committee and has the delegated

responsibility for the operation of the school’s boarding community, comprising over 450 schoolboys, 40 professional staff and 30 estates staff. He is the "face of boarding" for the school, and his duties include the effective day-to-day management of the boarding establishment, student well-being (including pastoral development and discipline), staff management and development, communication with parents, liaising with the Headmaster, counsellor et al, strategic planning, the maintenance of policies and procedures, financial management of all aspects of the boarding establishment, and the marketing of the boarding establishment. He also provides administrative leadership and support to the five Boarding Housemasters, and will be required to teach at least two academic classes and be involved in the school’s co-curricular programme.

MATHEMATICS EDUCATOR (Grades 8-12)

An innovative, experienced teacher, with excellent people skills and a passion for the subject, would suit this post.  Co-curricular involvement is a necessity.
