The choirs are all getting ready for Prizegiving on Tuesday 9 February. The programme includes the theme song from Avatar, ‘I see You’, Josh Groban’s ‘To Where you Are’ and the beautiful ‘Cinema Paradiso’ from the film of the same name. Instrumental items are a piano item by Ryan Hosking who was awarded Honours for Music last week and a clarinet piece by Cultural bursary recipient, James Wewege. College is hosting both the Junior and Senior Choir Festivals in the Alan Paton Hall during March and May. These were very successful in 2009 and College has been asked to host them every year. Last year 5 boys received Honours awards for Choir, the most in one year in the history of the school. They were Jarryd Nurden, Nipho Mkhize, Sandi Dlangalala, Thappi Tshangela and Mohau Thamahane.Violinist Andreas Scriba received Honours for Music. 8 boys auditioned successfully for the PMB and Midlands Youth Choir bringing to 17 the number of College boys in the Youth choir. |
