The Curriculum

At the General Education and Training (GET) level: (Grades 8 and 9)

 Here the medium of delivery is outcomes based, which ensures a large amount of learner involvement and participation.  Our assessment programme is structured and varied.  All learners in these Grades are required to receive tuition in the nine learning areas:
 In addition to these subject areas, boys in these grades have Physical Education and Media Science (Grade 8) lessons. 

Grades 8 and 9

 All Compulsory:
  • English Home Language
  • Afrikaans/isiZulu First Additional Language
  • Mathematics
  • Natural Science (Life and Physical Sciences)
  • Human and Social Studies (Geography and History)
  • Economic Management Sciences (Accounting and Economics)
  • Arts and Culture (Dramatic and Visual Arts)
  • Life Orientation
  • Technology (Engineering & Graphic Design and Computer Literacy)

Further Education and Training (FET) level:  (Grades 10 to 12)

Learners are required to do at least seven subjects to obtain their school-leaving certificates. We try to give our learners as much choice as possible, so that they are able to explore their individual academic interests.  Availablity of subjects depends on staffing considerations and upon a sufficient number of boys opting for the subject.
